Jun Fan Gung Fu & Jeet Kune Do
In the early 1960’s, Bruce Lee, assisted by Dan Inosanto, created Jun Fan Gung Fu, the foundation for a new, unconventional approach to martial arts training. Bruce extracted elements from numerous existing styles to create his own art.
Drawing from many sources, he created a combat effective mixture unlike anything seen before or since. The new method gave birth to an accelerated learning environment in which it flourished, establishing it as a refreshing change in training ideology, generations ahead of it’s time.
Jun Fan is the base system out of which Jeet Kune Do or “Way of the Intercepting Fist” evolved. Bruce Lee’s discoveries regarding combat motion unfolded at such a rapid pace, that they couldn’t be confined to a single system, evolving into an approach that “utilized all ways but was bound by none, “ it eventually became known as Jeet Kune Do, “Way of the intercepting fist”, a devastating amalgam of speed, power, aggression and deception.
